To control macrophages to master tumors?

The Animal Phenotyping (ANEXPLO) and Imaging & Cytometry (TRI) platforms of Genotoul are associated to a recent publicatio in Cancer Immunology Research, on macrophages, immune cells encountered in all tissues and essential to the preservation of their function.

When they invade the tumor, macrophages promote its growth, and the formation of metastases in most cases. This is why the presence of macrophages in a tumor is a factor of poor prognosis. The researchers have shown that it is possible to inhibit the migration of macrophages in tumors resulting in a decrease in tumor growth.
